You pay just the cost.

“A customer asked if we could just send everything to his phone. Text me or call me, that's how I run my business. We built Sam to find out if more people feel the same.”

Domains, answered.
How much does a domain name cost per year?
Exactly what it costs us, and that number is set by the registry, not by us. Every registrar pays the same wholesale fee for a .com; most add a margin, usually as a low first-year price and a higher renewal. ServicePro passes the fee through to the cent, at registration and at every renewal. Right now that is $10.26 a year for a .com, and the live figure sits next to every name when you search.
Is the domain included on the free plan?
Connecting a domain to your Jobsite is free on every plan, including the free one. Buying a new domain is a separate yearly charge, the registrar's own price passed through, because the registry charges us for it. If you already own a domain, there is nothing to buy.
What if the .com I want is taken?
We show close alternatives when you search. A .com you have to spell out over the phone is worse than a slightly different one you don't, so short and easy to say usually wins.
Why only .com?
It's the one customers type without thinking, and it reads as established on a truck or a yard sign. We only suggest .coms. If you have a .net or a .co in mind, type the full name and we'll tell you whether we can register it.
Can I use a domain I already own?
Yes. Point it at your Jobsite instead of buying a new one. That takes one DNS record at your current registrar, which we give you and walk you through. It's the one step we can't remove, because we don't control that domain.
Just want the domain, not the site?
Then buy it at any registrar; Cloudflare is a good one. What you get here is the name registered and pointed at your Jobsite with nothing to set up, so it only makes sense if you want the site too.
What happens when the domain comes up for renewal?
We email you the amount and the charge date at least 45 days ahead, then charge the card you registered with. You can turn renewal off in Settings any time before then. A domain whose renewal isn't paid expires on its date instead of being billed on.
Who is listed as the owner of the domain?
ServicePro is the registrant of record while the domain sits in our registrar account, which is what lets us set it up with no work from you. The right to take it anywhere, any time, free, is yours and is written into our terms. Transfer it out and the registrant becomes you.
