Pressure Washing Advertising: The Ads That Book Jobs, With 2026 Prices and Copy You Can Use
Pressure washing advertising is a before-and-after business
Every pressure washing ad that works shows the same thing: half a driveway black, half of it white. The trade has the most convincing ad unit in home services and pays almost nothing to make it, and most of the money wasted on pressure washing advertising is spent on ads that do not show it.
The second rule is the calendar. Google Ads data puts "pressure washing near me" at about 74,000 US searches in March and 27,100 in November (US monthly volumes via DataForSEO, pulled September 5, 2026), so an ad launched in April has missed the biggest month, and an ad running in December is buying clicks from people planning for spring. Our pressure washing marketing guide covers the whole system, including the free foundation and the off-season; this guide is the paid and printed channels, what each costs today, and the copy to put in them.
| Channel | 2026 cost | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Google Local Services Ads | About $41 per charged lead | House washes in the March spike |
| Google Search ads | $7.52 to $18.10 per click | Roof and soft-wash jobs |
| Facebook and Instagram ads | From a few dollars a day | The before-and-after, to your own zip codes |
| Door hangers | About $0.09 each printed; $0.26 mailed | The ten houses either side of a job |
| Yard signs | From $10.99 each | The week after the job |
| Nextdoor | Free page; paid deals optional | The recommendation thread |
Prices were checked on September 5, 2026, and each links to where it came from.
Before you spend: the page every ad lands on
A paid click that lands on a profile with four reviews and a homepage that says "we do it all" is a click wasted. Three things have to be true before any channel below is switched on:
- A page per service. House washing, driveways, roof soft wash, decks and commercial are separate searches with separate prices, and each ad sends people to its own page with a price range on it. Our pressure washing website design guide builds each of those, along with the QR-code landing page the yard signs point to. "Most house washes we do run $200 to $600" converts better than a form, and it is the line Google's AI answers quote.
- Twenty reviews. BrightLocal's 2026 consumer survey (BrightLocal sells local SEO software) found 47% of people will not consider a business with fewer than 20 reviews. Below that number, ads pay to send people to a listing they will skip.
- A phone that gets answered. The March searcher calls three companies and books the first one that picks up. A tracked number with missed-call text-back is the cheapest conversion tool in this guide.
Our Google Business Profile guide covers the profile; the pressure washing page shows what a site with a page per service looks like for this trade.
Google Local Services Ads: the emergency lane, inside the Window Cleaning vertical
Local Services Ads sit above the map, charge per lead rather than per click, and carry the Google Verified badge that replaced Google Guaranteed in October 2025 after a background check and proof of insurance.
Pressure washing does not have its own category. It sits inside Google's "Window Cleaning" vertical, where you enable the job types you offer: power and pressure washing, soft washing, gutter cleaning, and the rest. Google only shows the ad for searches matching the enabled job types.
What it costs. 99 Calls, an agency that runs these campaigns, publishes its clients' numbers: for September 2026 the average charged pressure washing lead was $40.97, the median $48.22, and the typical range $26.17 to $64.14, from four campaigns over three months. At a 40% close rate that is about $100 per booked house wash, which works on a $300 job and does not on a $150 driveway.
How to set it up.
- Enable house washing, soft washing and gutter cleaning; leave off anything you would turn down.
- Set the weekly budget to what ten leads cost, then raise it only when the close rate is above 40%.
- Answer on the first ring. The lead is warm for minutes, and Google rates the ad on responsiveness.
- Dispute the junk. Wrong service area, spam and duplicate calls are refundable if you flag them.
- Apply in January. Verification takes days to weeks, and the ad has to be live before March.
Google Search ads: roof cleaning only, with this ad
Search ads cost per click, and for pressure washing the clicks are priced by the job: about $7.52 for "pressure washing near me", $13.89 for "house washing near me", $18.10 for "roof cleaning near me" and $7.46 for "soft washing near me" (Google Ads averages via DataForSEO, September 2026). A $7.52 click that converts one time in ten is $75 per booked $200 driveway, which is a loss. An $18 click for a $500 roof wash at the same rate is $180 per booked job, which pencils.
So run search ads for the big-ticket services only, and send each to its own page. A campaign that has worked for the roof page looks like this:
Roof Soft Washing in [Town] | Black Streaks Gone, No Pressure Low-pressure roof cleaning that removes algae without damaging shingles. Licensed and insured. Free quote from your address, today. Sitelinks: Roof cleaning prices · Before and after photos · Book online
The rules that keep it from burning money:
- Exact and phrase match on the job, with negatives for "diy", "rental", "machine", "jobs" and "how to".
- Your zip codes only, with a radius no larger than the truck's morning.
- Call tracking on the ad's number, so the cost per booked job is a fact rather than a feeling.
- Start at no more than $50 a day, which is Jobber's advice for pressure washing campaigns and ours, until the cost per booked job is known.
- Pause in November. The clicks keep coming; the jobs do not.
Facebook and Instagram: the before-and-after ad
Social ads work for pressure washing for one reason: the split-screen driveway stops the thumb. A cold ad for a service people book once a year rarely pays; a before-and-after clip shown to the zip codes where your truck already works does, because a third of that street has the same driveway.
The ad that runs every spring:
Video: 15 seconds. Wide shot of the driveway before, the same shot after, a wipe between them, the house number blurred. Primary text: We cleaned this driveway on [Street] yesterday. If yours looks like the left side, it takes about 90 minutes and most run $100 to $300. Neighbours on the same street this week get $25 off. Headline: Driveway and house washing in [Town] Button: Get a quote (to the driveway page with the price range)
How to run it:
- Targeting: a 3-mile radius around the streets you cleaned last month, homeowners, 30 and up. Skip interest targeting; the radius is the interest.
- Budget: $5 to $10 a day from February to May, then off. Instagram clicks in this category run under a dollar in most markets, so the spend is small and the film is the work.
- Retargeting: a second ad, shown only to people who visited the site and did not book, with the same clip and a booking link.
- Nextdoor: the business page and its posts are free; post the same clip there and answer the recommendation threads yourself before paying for a local deal.
Film every job. The one you think is boring is the one that gets shared.
Print: the door hanger and the yard sign, with the copy
Printed advertising in pressure washing works in exactly one place: next to a job you just finished. A hanger on a random street is a flyer; a hanger that names the house two doors down is proof.
The door hanger. One online printer lists 1,000 door hangers for $93.51, about nine cents each. The copy:
Front: [Before-and-after photo of a driveway on this street.] We just cleaned the driveway at number 42. Back: Same street, same week: driveways from $125, house washes from $225. Scan to see your price and pick a time. [QR code to the booking page.] Licensed and insured. [Phone number.]
Hang it on the ten houses either side and the ten across, the same day, with the owner's permission to name the house. If the crew will not walk, USPS Every Door Direct Mail is $0.26 a piece with a 200-piece minimum per route and you choose the routes.
The yard sign. Corrugated 18-by-24 signs run from $10.99 each at Vistaprint, less in bulk. Ask the customer to leave it a week. The copy is two lines and a code:
This driveway: 90 minutes. [Company name.] Scan for your price. [QR code.]
Put a different tracked number or QR code on the hangers and the signs than on the ads, so in May you know which one booked the jobs.
What not to spend on
- Shared lead marketplaces. A pressure washing lead sold to four companies goes to whoever texts a price first, and the customer goes back to the marketplace next spring. Our Thumbtack and Angi breakdowns have the numbers.
- Search ads on "pressure washing near me" in general. At $7.52 a click and a one-in-ten conversion, a $200 driveway cannot carry it. Leave the generic term to the map and Local Services Ads.
- Cold social ads with stock photos. The whole point of the channel is the real driveway.
- Billboards, radio and the coupon mailer. Untargeted, unmeasurable, and priced for companies with a fleet.
- Any ad in November. "Pressure washing near me" searches fall by two thirds and the people still clicking are planning rather than booking. Spend the winter on the property managers and realtors in the marketing guide instead.
Budgets by season, and the one number to track
There is no percentage-of-revenue rule that fits a seasonal trade. The budget follows the calendar:
- January and February: $0 on ads. Apply for Local Services Ads, build the pages, order the hangers and signs, film the first jobs.
- March to May: Local Services Ads at the cost of ten leads a week, the Facebook before-and-after at $5 to $10 a day, search ads for roof cleaning at up to $50 a day. Hangers and signs on every job.
- June to August: keep Local Services Ads on, cut search to the roof page, let the hangers do the rest.
- September to November: Local Services Ads only, budget halved; hangers on every job; everything else off.
The number to track is cost per booked job, by channel, by month. Put a different tracked number on the ads, the hangers and the signs, and ask "how did you hear about us" on every booking. A house wash at $200 to $600 at 50% gross margin leaves $100 to $300; any channel booking jobs for less than that is working, and any channel above it is a loss you are paying to learn about.
Where ServicePro fits
Every ad above lands on a page, a profile and a phone, and ServicePro is those three at software prices: marketing agency support at $99 a month rather than a retainer. The free plan builds a site from your Google Business Profile in about five minutes, on your own domain, with up to five service pages to send each ad to, a booking page that the hanger and sign QR codes open, an inbox for every call and message, and five review requests a month.
Pro is $99 a month, no contract, and adds the pieces the ads depend on: a tracked phone number with two-way texting and missed-call text-back for the March calls, Google Map rank tracking for "pressure washing near me" across every town you serve so you know where the map is already doing the ad's job, up to 25 location pages, 100 automatic review requests a month with AI-drafted replies, and the before-and-after clip posted for you to your Google Business Profile and to Facebook and Instagram.
We do not run your ads or print your signs. The pressure washing page shows what the site and the rank tracking look like for this trade.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best way to advertise a pressure washing business?
Next to the last job. A door hanger with a before-and-after photo on the ten houses either side, a yard sign for a week, and a 15-second split-screen clip shown to that zip code on Facebook and Instagram cost under $200 a month and outperform every paid channel. Local Services Ads at about $41 a lead fill the gaps in the March spike once the profile has twenty reviews and the phone is answered.
How much do pressure washing leads cost on Google Local Services Ads?
99 Calls' client data for September 2026 puts the average charged pressure washing lead at $40.97, the median at $48.22 and the typical range at $26.17 to $64.14, from four campaigns. Pressure washing sits inside Google's Window Cleaning vertical, so you enable the pressure washing, soft washing and gutter cleaning job types rather than a category of your own.
Are Google Ads worth it for pressure washing?
Only for the big tickets. Clicks cost about $7.52 for "pressure washing near me" and $18.10 for "roof cleaning near me", and at a one-in-ten conversion a $200 driveway cannot carry either. A $500 roof soft wash can. Run search ads on the roof and house washing pages only, in your own zip codes, at no more than $50 a day until the cost per booked job is known.
Do pressure washing flyers and door hangers work?
Only next to a finished job. A hanger that says "we cleaned number 42 today" with a photo of that driveway converts because the proof is visible from the porch; a hanger on a random street is a flyer. At about nine cents each printed, or $0.26 mailed through USPS Every Door Direct Mail, it is the cheapest channel in the trade.
How much should a pressure washing business spend on advertising?
Nothing in winter and a few hundred dollars a week in the March-to-May spike: Local Services Ads at the cost of ten leads a week, the before-and-after social ad at $5 to $10 a day, and search ads on roof cleaning at up to $50 a day. Cap every channel at about $100 per booked house wash, which is roughly the gross profit on the first job.
What should a pressure washing ad say?
Show the before-and-after, name the street, give a price range and a same-week reason to book. "We cleaned this driveway on Elm Street yesterday. Most run $100 to $300. Neighbours this week get $25 off. Scan for your price." The photo does the persuading; the copy just has to give a number and a next step.
